About Skern Lodge

Whether it's kayaking, surfing, climbing or multi-activity, we have experienced qualified and friendly instructors ready to help you enjoy your sport and develop your skills. Kayaking We are ideally located for river trips through Bideford and Appledore on the River Torridge, skills training in our heated pool on-site, and kayak surfing on the beach. Skern Lodge is a British Canoe Union Approved Centre.
Surfing Ride the waves on the beach at Westward Ho! Spend time with the Skern surf instructor and you'll catch more waves, control your turns and have more fun.

Climbing Using the different climbing walls at Skern Lodge to develop your skills, balance and climbing ability. This can extend onto the high ropes, Jacobs ladder and big zipwire for more challenges up high.

Multi Activity Choose from all the activities at Skern Lodge. Assault course, high ropes, crate stacking, climbing, abseiling, big zipwire, tunnels, archery, pool kayak, swimming are all on-site at Skern Lodge. Two or sometimes three can be combined for a morning or afternoon. Or make a great day out with up to 6 activities. Kayak, surfing, surf kayaking and rafting are all nearby, each takes half a day, or a full day if you wish.
Hartland is our dramatic cliff and seashore zone, perfect for a full day of coastal exploring, traversing, scrambling and abseils. A great day out in a dramatic and challenging environment.
